Shirley A. Eichenberger

October 2, 1943 - March 16, 2011

Shirley A. Eichenberger, 67, of Janesville/Beloit passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Beloit Memorial Hospital. Shirley was born on October 2, 1943 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Royal and Esther (Zimmerman) Eichenberger. She grew up in the Freeport area and worked for a time at her father’s cheese factory. She also was employed for a time at St. Vincent’s orphanage as a domestic. Following her father’s death, Shirley moved with her mother and grandmother to Janesville. She made her home with Paula Finley in Janesville prior to moving to Beloit where she resided with Julie and Dale Mitchell. Shirley enjoyed attending The Parsonage where she liked doing crafts and visiting with the other residents.

In addition to the persons she has been living with the past nine years, she is survived by special friends, Kenneth and Elsbeth Gross of Milton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2011 at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville with Pastor Bond Haldeman of St. John Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.
